Work while studying in New Zealand
New Zealand has excellent work rights for international students. You may be able to work part-time while you study—and for three years after your degree.

Working while studying can be a good way to gain New Zealand work experience and help support you while you’re studying abroad. It also helps you develop skills such as communication, teamwork, timekeeping, interpersonal skills, and workplace-relevant English language skills.
International students have the same legal minimum rights and entitlements as anyone else working in New Zealand. Your student visa may allow you to work:
Part-time (up to 20 hours per week) during the academic year
Full time (up to 40 hours per week) during scheduled breaks in the study and during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
Many students find success in getting a job by walking into shops, cafes, or restaurants with their CVs and asking if there are any jobs available. Educare will help you learn job-related skills such as writing CVs and preparing for an interview.
